Bob Tuttle Steel Guitar

Black 10 String Lap Steel

Here is one of my past guitar projects

This is a ten string lap steel with a keyless tuning head that I built.

The body is made from three Select pine 1 X 10s, glued together.  I cut out the holes for the pickup and control cavities before gluing the top piece on.

I bought the used keyless tuning head and the bridge from someone on the Steel Guitar Forum. The pickup is a used GeorgeL’s I found on eBay.  All of the electronics parts came from Stewart-MacDonald.

The fretboard is made from an old Shop-Bud “dustcatcher” that I had laying around.
